Synology® Encourages Seagate Users to Update HDD Firmware for Certain Disk Models

Taipei, Taiwan—January 19, 2009— According to Seagate's knowledge base #207931, certain hard drive models from Seagate may fail when the host system is powered on. This can be resolved by updating to Seagate's recommended firmware. Among the affected models, the ST31000340AS, ST31000340NS, and ST31500341AS are supported by Synology Disk Station. Thus, Synology encourages users who used the mentioned disk models to visit Seagate's knowledge base #207931 to resolve the issue.
